Greetings missedmine from another Sussex member. A very elderly one who remembers travelling on the real Southern Railway, so finds the discomfort of the modern stock almost more than he can bear.

Theres nothing wrong the todays 'Electrostars' if anything there better!

Anyway a welcome from me to, but I'm also new and hope to enjoy the forum.

Yup, gotta agree with that. The ride on a 375 or 377 with its airbag (secondary) suspension is miles ahead of the old 400 series with their leaf springs. I remember coming up from Tonbridge to CX on one a few years ago and it was bucking all over the place.

There are plenty of nasty modern trains, but Electrostars aren't one of them ...IMHO

(377s are nicer to drive than 400s too.... )
