Help! ID required!

Hi all.
Can anyone identify the level crossing pictured in the attachements? It seems to be too big to be 00 gauge, so it's more likely to be O gauge. It is all metal comprising of 2 pairs of gates, painted white with the red warning disc on them, and an approach ramp for each side which is a very light metallic green colour. There are no identifying marks on the crossing at all, but on the box is a yellow label reading 'NO.1243 LEVEL CROSSING MADE IN ENGLAND'. Please reply if anyone knows anything!

looked at places I know and can't find any similar the O gauge Hornby ones are painted as are Triang and Marklin not sure about Basset-Loake if they did any thing like this

I have checked my 1962 Gamages model railway book and there's nothing like it in there.

I think it is probably pre-war. Bassett Lowke would be my best guess.

Is there any possibility that it could be OO gauge? I mean, were the accessories such as this always exact scale? Basically, the gates are just about as tall as a current OO loco, which is what made me think it could be O gauge, but maybe it's not particularly accurate in scale.
Any more ideas?

The crossing gates are Triang i think. I have some myself that are similair but not quite the same as them

The Triang ones I saw had a one piece gate each side.
