Class 460 southern region electrics

Can anyone help, please? At Blackfriars in July 2008 I noted two units, 460425 and 460449, yet my latest stock book indicates that no such units exist. Havew tried to establish what I may have seen instead, tho' I'm not usually careless on these matters, but without results. Any ideas please?

Thanks for the attempts to help. Clearly the sets I saw were NOT 460000-type; what would be the most likely alternative, given the final three digits were (almost certainly) 425 and 449, bearing in mind the Blackfriars location?

My guess would be Class 319; one of the sub-classes runs from 319 421 to 319 460, and as far as I know, cross-Thames services use Blackfriars.

I'm pretty sure that Class 460s don't have route clearance to Blackfriars. If they had been there we would all have heard about it - the Gossip network ! (The closest they ever get is Herne Hill, as GatEx has a diversionary route out of Victoria to Tulse Hill & then onto East Croydon).

Like Dave says, I expect it was a 319, as the other units through Blackfriars at the time - Networkers, don't have a /4 subclass.

Hope this helps

FP (Ex Blackfriars driver)
