Class 73 on the underground

I was on the underground this morning, and I noticed a 73 with 73299 on the side at Farringdon. It was on the FCC side.

Nothing was in the written books I had on me at all.

Can somebody help me please???

It's an odd number though, Was it a GBRF loco? May have been 73209 Alison.

73209 sounds likely (although as I wasn't there it would be had for me to confirm anything). Engineering works that require mainline locos or test trains at Farringdon can only use 31s, 33s or 73s. No other locos are cleared to work through the tunnels there.

Definitely GBRf / NR class 73s on an engineering job. There were two in GBRf blue (possibly 73204/05, sorry not into number collecting) in Farringdon station around 8:30 and 73212 (yellow) / 73141 (First livery) at the east end of Barbican station. I do remember the latter two as a photo was taken of them

I'd say it was 209 that the OP saw then.
