LMS Scientific Research Labs, Derby - Planning Application to demolish Hartley House
There is a Planning Application to demolish the 1935 LMS Scientific Research Laboratories, 500 London Road, Derby DE24 8BQ known to all as Hartley House
Its importance, particularly to Derby, was its position midway between the pioneering work of the nineteenth century and the opening of the Research Department across the road that developed the HSFV1, the APT and the HST They wish to build in place of it, an Al-Madinah Education Trust School. Here's a better view of the building in question. It can be seen to be a virtually unaltered example of mid-thirties industrial architecture.
