I was very impressed. It was only my second visit to the railway, the first being the Steam Gala in mid June. I will be making more visits in the future. May see you around....
BTW where is Burrs. I don't know the area that well. There are some great locations for getting side on views of the engines. |

Burrs is a country park between Bury and Summerseat. It contains two viaducts and a footpath crossing the line on the embankment, all good places for photography. There are plans to build a halt there, which will be good news for The Brown Cow (the local pub, very nice it is too).

The HC1E is around £1200 but Sony have just released a small higher definition camcarder but with the same resoluiton for £800-£900 (HC3E). With the camcorder being high def, all footage is shot in anamorphic widescreen. If you are not using broadband then the download times for the "high res" footage will takes ages as the files are pretty big even though I've reduced the resolution to 1280x720. That's why there are also low res files for people on dial up connections. The low res files could be made smaller but the quality does suffer so I tend to use a 'Medium' setting for converting the files to WMV format which results in a file size of around 2MB to 5MB depending upon running time.
