Graffiti Station Unveiled by FGW!

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...cle1794301.ece

All I can say is: Yuck.

And what planet is FGW living on? What kind of message does this send out?

I think this sucks.

I agree Ducks. It's just giving out the message that graffiti is acceptable and the yobs will just go elsewhere to find their blank canvasses.
It's about time that some people in authority stopped regarding graffiti as "art" and realised that the defacing of other peoples property is vandalism and criminal damage.
Most experts agree that the only way to deal with graffiti is to keep removing it until the so called "artists" eventually get fed up. However, as FGW no doubt know, this remedy can be expensive in the short term so they have gone for the cheaper option.

Oh I've seen worse. Was this done by kids with cans or someone else taking the mick out of graffiti artists? Just curious about that big Yuck on the roof

I don't think its particularly nice, but I see where they are coming from, if the had painted it 'normal' colours how long would it have stayed that way, and in all likelyhood it would have been 'tags' rather than 'art', which I think would look worse, not that I'm saying I agree with it.

Maybe a bunch of us could sneak in one night and paint the buildings a nice shade of blue,or maybe brown and cream - or would that be vandalism ????

True. All the rail companies are trying to improve the image of the railway with tidy stations & top class facilities and here you have FGW using your money to vandalise its own stations & cave in to idiots! Madness.

They should be leading by example & demostrating a zero tolerance to this kind of thing and showing its no cool or acceptable. Bad show FGW.

The world's gone mad. Using the same logic, why don't they break all the windows in there trains, then no vandals can do that? Utter madness.
