I liked that thank you. Many years ago, I did the tour of the bridge, going into the machine room and walking across the top.

Very nice, we were lucky enough to be at Tower bridge a few years ago when it lifted. We were told then that it was raised about 6 times a week.

Thanks for that. Sadly, on my visits to London I've never been lucky enough to see it open.

I seem to recall reading many years ago of a London bus crossing the join just as the bridge began to open. Am I dreaming that or does anyone else remember it and have their been any other accidents/near misses involving the opening/closing of the bridge?
