Hornby pullman
Hornby told me earlier this year that their R4254 pullman extension set was only temportaroily out of stock, and new stock would be available in November this year so I bought a pullman set klnowing I could extend it. November's here, I wrote to Hornby...guess what..they're not getting any more r4254 sets!!!
Anyone any experience of this.... John |

Hi John,
Welcome to the Forum. As you may be aware Hornby's manufacturer in China has just been taken over by Kader Industries who own Bachmann so the next few months could be quite interesting! Hornby are way behind in releasing 2008 products: I am still waiting for the T9 which was due out by the end of June. It might arrive for Christmas. This would help to account for Hornby's reply. As I see it you have several alternatives. As Robbo suggests trawel E Bay. I will enquire locally as it is amazing what some retailers have in their store rooms. Finally you could buy the coaches separately which may a bit more expensive but ...... Hope this helps. Best wishes, John H-T. |

Hi Guys
Thank you very much for your help and advice in this. I'll keep looking. It could be that new coach packs are in the pipeline. I'll let you know if I have any success. Kind regards John |

News in the new December Model Rail mag says that Hornby are happy with the new Kader takeover of Sanda Kan, Hornby are their largest customer. They have said that Hornby Production will continue as normal. Hornby's Frank Martin said that they had been closely engaged in the developing situation to ensure continuity of supply.

Hi again Guys
I'm now the proud owner of a set of R4254 pullman coaches thanks to help from members of this site. Thanks very much for your help.... Now I'm wondering if anyone knows a source of chain link couplings. I'm thinking of converting my tension locks to look more realistic. Regards John |
