Blue Pullman from Bachman

New Bachman products include a 6-car blue Pullman. http://www.bachmann.co.uk/index.php

Now Hornby have announced that they are going to investigate making one and have sent the dies (they still have the old Tri-ang ones) to china to see if they are suitable.

It must be April 1st

So many people have been screaming for the Blue Pulman, now there is a possibility of three!: Bachmann, Hornby (exTriang) and Olivia Trains/Heljan. If I were to buy one(highly unlikely) it would be Bachmann. The Quality will be good and the price reasonable - Kernow Model Shop have got it at £285 for the six car unit.

Saving my pennies for 10000 (Rails/Bachmann)

Best wishes,

John H-T.

LMS Diesel - they are doing both of them: 10000/10001 but not the LNER 4-6-4!

Best wishes,

Heljan have dropped theirs, general concensus was a figure a of around £250-£300 for a 6 car set, but nothing was ever said officially.

I think Hornby's 'old' model will have to be significantly cheaper than Bachmann's to sell I think, but who knows what'll happen next.

If it is cheap enough, I might get a couple of the Hornby ones to 'modernify' to 'what ifs', the Bachmann one is a little pricey to be doing that to!

I think the Hornby one is to be produced as part of the "Railroad Range," as a rerun of their old version.

If Bachmann manage to sell theirs for around £300 that will compare quite favourably with Hornby's HST (Power Cars plus 4 Coaches) and will probably be higher spec.

Best wishes,

John H-T.
