Vandals dump objects on railway

Vandals have caused delays on the West Midlands rail network by placing objects on the line.
Crew on a service running from Birmingham New Street to Hednesford reported seeing an object, thought to be a shopping trolley, on the tracks.
Later, staff on a service to Rugeley said they hit a wheelie bin which had been placed on the same stretch of line at Ryecroft Junction.
The train was damaged and passengers had to get off at Tame Bridge.
A spokeswoman for Central Trains said British Transport Police were investigating.
"Unfortunately there are a lot of incidents of this sort every day.
"People seem to think the railway is a playground."
