How times have changed

Hello,

How times have changed, when I was a lad I used to climb up the corner wall at Holbeck engine shed in the 60's to get the numbers, and get thrown out when caught by the yard master only to climb back in again. Now everything is so much easier and less dirty.

I found this site by mistake almost, looking at Potteric Carr's nature reserve website, I hope I can get to the spot before the Train gets there, with your help.

John

Hi John and welcome to the forum i hope you enjoy it.
I myself as a kid remember going to Holbeck Depot i dont remember any problems with the staff.
We asked the shed master if its ok and we walked all around the depot taking engine numbers.
You must have had a grumpy old shed master.

ccmmick.

Hello John and welcome to the Railway Forum. I never had a problem wandering around the Bulawayo sheds. Even when I was only 4 or 5 years old, that is until my dad found me and warmed my backside.
