Hello!

Hi, I'm new here and hope to make some new online friends. I'm from Uruguay, railways were first introduced here by British companies and we still have and cherish a few pretty old steam locomotives. Here is one, just in case anyone cares about those beauties:

That steam loco that the caption on the first link states that is awaiting restoration is a real beauty, looks very modern and German! me likes

Hello Raider, and welcome to the Railway Forum. Some interesting photos and video that you have posted. Did Uruguay ever run Garratts? Most of South American countries did but I don't have any information about Uruguay.

As for Garratts, I do not know really. The steam trains that I remember were moved by Henschel and Beyer Peacock locomotives.

Thanks Raider, I had a good read through the sites you gave me and there is no mention of a garratt of any type. I must admit that I'm surprised as most of S America used Garrett's at one time or another.
