South Africa: Metro train crash with fatalities Joburg

In a more rational discussion someone questioned the fact that there was a clear run of about 500 yards to the point of impact, how long would it take a train travelling at around 30 - 40 mph to stop? From the damage it seems that the speed at impact was quite high. Unfortunately the discussion after the article descended pretty low

Now the early stages of the investigation are focusing on the possibility that the train skipped a red light. But the driver of the moving train is seriously injured in hospital.
