The Tribulations of East Cheam
This is going to be like a blog sort of thing, detailing what I can, and where I fail in building my new mayout. As a rank amateur in such affairs, it will be full of mistakes, errors, trials and tribulation and hopefully at the end a spiffy layout. The following stages will be gone through:
Initial Ideas Research Concept Final Plan (Track) Base Board Laying of Track and Creaton of Scenery Circuitry and Electrics Buildings Scenery Rolling Stock Finals |

Australian Lord, you wrote
"Laying of Track and Creation of Scenery Circuitry and Electrics" As I found to my cost, change that to Laying of Track Circuitry and Electrics Then Creating of Scenery. Once the track has been laid and the Circuitry and Electrics have been sorted and tested, you may find some small problems which can be fixed before the Scenery is started. I would also suggest you test the track with different locos and coaches/wagons as some of them do not always run as well as others on the same track. e.g. some coaches jump the track at points (switches) or wagons derail at Level crossings. Once this is all sorted then go on to doing the scenery. Sorry if I am talking out of turn but I have had to scrap one layout because of not doing things in the right order. Syd |
