Spa Valley summer steam visitor
The Spa Valley Railway has announced a steam visitor for the summer season - Andy Booth's ex-Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway A class (BR class 27) No.52322.
The L&YR 0-6-0 is set to be visiting the Tunbridge Wells-Eridge line from May-August 2018, with the first operating day being Saturday May 5th. 52322 will share the steam services with resident RSH 0-6-0ST No.62 'Ugly', alongside diesel services. Both steam locos should be working over the May Bank Holiday weekend (5-7 May) and also during the Summer Steam Festival (30 June/1 July), the latter also sees the railway play host to a large gathering of steam road vehicles. Apart from these weekends, I expect the railway to operate only one of the steam locos (usually with one of the diesels) - keep an eye on the loco roster! http://www.spavalleyrailway.co.uk/se...railway-events http://www.spavalleyrailway.co.uk/ar...omotive-roster Tony |

The Spa Valley Railway has announced another visiting steam loco is coming to Tunbridge Wells this year - Port Talbot Railway 0-6-0ST No.813 is visiting from November 2018 to January 2019 to help with the Santa and post Christmas services.
This will be the third visiting steam loco at the Spa Valley Railway this year, following SECR P class 0-6-0T No.323 'Bluebell' in February & March and Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway class 27 0-6-0 No.52322 from May-September. It is also the third time in the last 12 months that No.813 has visited the South East from it's home on the Severn Valley Railway having visited the K&ESR from November 2017-January 2018 and then visiting the Bluebell Railway in May this year.
