Thieves who took more than 72 tonnes of disused rail track from a rural part of Lancashire are sought by police.

According to the BBC local news today, thieves have stolen £50,000 of copper cable causing disruption on the lower Darwen line in Lancashire. They seem to think they were dressed in high Vis clothing so nobody would bother them.

On the lamport railway in northampton they broke into a peak class loco and ripped out the wiring and took that along with other metal.there is a pub/rest next to the line and no one saw or heard a thing.
