"World of Model Railways"

Just returned from a most enjoyable week in Cornwall. Amongst the places visited was the picturesque little fishing port of Megavissey which boasted as an attraction "World of Model Railways".

Don't wish to do down anyone in the model railway world trying to make a go of things but I was a bit disappointed with it and I would question value for money. (Anyone else been there?) However, having said that there were some quite frightening admission prices for some attractions in Cornwall but they were on a completely different scale (eg Eden Project, very expensive but good)

Visited it some years ago. Admission price was reasonable and was then OK.

May have raised the admision price too much or I believe it might have changed hands.

Best wishes,

John H-T.

I have been to the "World of Model Railways" a number of times. At one time it was a very good display, but I'm sorry to say that when I last visited in 2007, it had slipped quite a bit. Spider webs should be removed every day when the layout is inspected before opening to the public.
The price of entry has increased but not out of line with other attractions in Cornwall. The shop side has a very small stock and is not very well set out but then the "World of Model Railways" is not really a model railway shop, more an exhibition.

I went down there last summer i only live about 10 miles away the last time i went was about 20 years ago i think the layout was the same back then.
I didnt think the price was to bad.
There used to be a nice layout at Newton Abbot in Trago Mills shopping complex.
I dont know if it is still there or not.
