Class 142 to be Named

I understand that a class 142 is to be named 'Timothy Hackworth' at Darlington at 10.00 22nd October. Has anyother member any information please?

Which coach?
Or is one coach going to be Called Timothy & the other Hackworth.
If other 142s are named & then "split" we could have some amusing combinations!

I think a Class 142 is an excellent choice. It illustrates just how little some trains have changed over the years.
I'm sure Mr. Hackworth would instantly recognise the similarites between the 142 and some of the early coaches used on the Stockton & Darlington Railway.

Fair point John. About the only difference, apart from the I.C.E., is that the 142 has a roof!

Very true John.
Although, judging by the amount of water that can often be found inside a 142, even that is debatable.
