can anyone help
hi am thinking of baying a jhonson 1f 0-6-0T from craftmans models but am unsure i would be able to get it running so i though of baying a onthe shelf model and just droping the jhonson body onto it soto speek! i have ring craftmans up and have been told that distance from front to center and center to back wheels are 29mm and 31mm. so does any know of a loco which would do or have allready tried it and know of any pit falls that awhat me. i did think of the jinty but that is much longer then jhonson.any advice would be welcome,

Mercian Models do a complete kit for the Midland 1F. It is one on my list for the future. They seem quite a reasonable firm, I have talked to them at Exhibitions. They also promise to replace free any part you damage during constructing the kit which seems a good deal. See:

i have had one of there 7f 0-8-0 locos before and it know sets in a sideing awhating scrap will an bachmann run around the layout its not that i can not build the loco i just dont seem to be ablie to get the pickups right tenshon so i tend to by a loco now adays with a moterbogei or a tender moter as the jhonson is a tank loco this is not an option. and as my scrap lane as more then engouht on it
