If you are completly stuck there is a chap in Harrow who has a complete set of spares.which he purchased from hornby when they went to China
he is a professional repairer and not cheap 0208 907 7662 I think his name is Hammond

He re furbed my 1950s Brighton surburban motor cost me £40 but it was worth it to get it running

Thanks Ken but I think it would cost more than it is worth.
The loco is part of a collection being offered for sale at our club open weekend, half of the proceeds going to the owner, the other half to the club.
I'm checking everything over and this is the only loco I cannot yet repair, as the chassis of the motor bogie is cracked and twisted.
I used to have a chassis in my 'bit-box' but can no longer find it. I may have lost it when 'de-cluttering' but I doubt it, I rarely throw anything away to do with railways.

I'll go and have ANOTHER look in my shed and garage!!

I see, so often the value of something is more than it price,
My Brighton unit was purchased for me for Xmas in about 1957 I still have the box
it has the price on it of 42 shillings that is £2 20p I saw one at a model rail fare for £75
considering they are about 50 yrs old thats inflation for you
