[B][/Hello everyone. Thank you for allowing me to join Railway Forum
I am now retired having worked on UK Railways for 50 years. My working rolls were as follows: Junior Porter Engine Cleaner Fireman/Secondman S&T Mechanical Gang Labourer S&T Assistant Technician S&T Technician S&T Senior Technician S&T Training Instructor S&T Training officer S&T MS1 Training After Privatisation I worked for a number of Companies including working for myself (RTMG Partnership) involved in both S&T an Safety Training. Final 2 years WDS RailTrack Bristol I have many experiences that I am now posting on my blog www.bspaac.com and hope that all who visit will be entertained by humor, tragedy, ups and downs experienced during my service. I have also converted a distance learning course, Basic Signalling Principles & Associated Circuitry (BSP&AC) into eBook (PDF) format. These can be viewed on my website www.bspaac.net. I look forward to examining the Forums on this siteB] |

Good to hear from you Roy, hope you enjoy looking around the Forum.
From the details you've supplied of your railway career it looks like you were an engine cleaner right at the end of the BR steam era. Where were you working then, and how did it feel knowing that steam was coming to an end? |
