Sheffield derailment
Several wagons of a cement train derailed at Sheffield in the early hours of yesterday morning (11/11/20) - disruption is still continuing today.
https://www.therailwayhub.co.uk/3837...-travel-chaos/ https://www.railadvent.co.uk/2020/11...ot-travel.html The train was travelling from Hope Cement Works to Dewsbury when several wagons derailed after it had passed through platform 1 at Sheffield. The derailed wagons initially blocked 5 of the 8 platforms at Sheffield, 3 will remain out of use today. The BTP, RAIB & ORR are investigating. Tony |

The RAIB report into the Sheffield derailment has been published - the cause has been identified as broken track screws, causing the track to spread and some of the wagons dropped into the space between the rails.
