Thumbs up Free Movie Tickets for Australian participants in rail research @ UNSW

Hi all those interested in:

Free movie tickets;
Train simulators; and
Getting involved in cutting edge research in train driving human factors.

I'm Peter, a PhD student at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Kensington campus (Sydney) investigating the possible effects of introducing various levels of train driving automation, on train drivers.

I need about 40 participants (train drivers, train simulator enthusiasts, those interested in participating in experiments at uni, etc.) to volunteer early this year (although more experiments will be running throughout the year).

You'll need to be 18 or over, have good eye sight, hearing, be able to get yourself to UNSW campus, and be able to learn how to control/drive a simulated train in a hi-tech simulated environment. No train simulator experience in necessary.

Up for the challenge?

We'll be able to compensate you with two movie tickets, if you agree to spend an hour in training, and up to two hours (max) in the actual experiment.

I'll be taking names and contact details (and providing more details about the experiment) from anyone responding to this forum posting over the next couple of months, and will keep checking throughout the year (so don't worry about missing out).

I'm looking forward to meeting you all soon at UNSW.

Peter

Hi Peter it's a bit too far to travel from Uk, but good luck with your research.
