Just looking through LNER site found you

My father was with LNER for nearly 50 years based at Stratford,He would turn in his grave now if he saw it,and for a time during the war was at Hertford North

My Brother drove the last steam train into Enfield Town
I never worked for the company But used to travel every day fro Bush Hill Park to Enfield to go to school

Hello pwgriffin and welcome to the Railway Forum. I bet there are a number of people who would turn in their grave if they could see the railways now. Some may even think things are better, but I feel not many would.

Hi pwgriffin, welcome to the forum, hope you enjoy it. I have a friend in Ilford who spent most of his life at Doncaster, and ended up at Ilford,a very knowledgeable and informative ex locoman, with a fantistic memory,Pete is in his early 80s,give him a number or name and he will give you the answer.I told him that we Patricroft men used to take the Deltics from Vulcan works to Leeds where Donny men took over, ironic that LNW men drove and second manned the Deltics before the NE men got their hands on them.We always had a nice lunch at vulcan foundry, courtesy of the Deltic programme. Torquay.
